This modern-designed new building which was inaugurated last 20 June 2009 is constructed to be the new home for the artifacts (marble sculptures and bronze) originally displayed at the old Acropolis Museum (1874). Greek Parliament Building

Built between 1836-1842, this plain and neoclassical building originally served as the house of the king. And in 1924, the building became the house of parliament. In front of the building is the Tomb of Unknown Soldier guarded day and night by elite guards. (the tomb of unknown soldier symbolically represents the war grave of those soldiers in ancient times who have died without their remains being identified). A visit to Athens is incomplete without visiting this place and posing with these elite guards. (Athens, Greece / 2006)

Corinth Canal

This is the canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It was cut through heavily faulted sedimentary rock in an active seismic zone. Being 6343 meters in length and 21 meters in width at the bottom, it has been dug between 1881 and 1893 and is considered a great technical achievement for its time for it saves 400 kilometers of journey. The 8-meter deep canal with 24.6 meters width at water level is mostly used by tourist ships nowadays. (Corinth, Greece / 2006).

Hydra Island

Hydra island is a rocky hill in the Aegean sea. Although it does not posses much of golden beaches, the rocky shores present their own charm. The waters are cool and calm. The climb to the top of a hill is very stiff, but the whitewashed walkways, the full view of the town and the quiet blue ocean give a great reward once you reach the top. There is no room for traffic jam as there is no car available anywhere in the island. The transportation is only through the donkeys, another thing that makes the island more interesting. Panathenaic Stadium

As seen with olympic rings, this stadium hosted the very first revived Olympic Games in 1896, after it has been ceased in 393 AD. (Olympia, Greece was the birthplace of the original olympic games in 776 BC.) However, the history of this impressive site goes a long way back. The first stadium constructed on this site was made of wood in 330 BC and was used for athletic competitions and great festivities in ancient Greece. The transformation and restoration took place at the end of 19th century into white marble, in a shape of inverted horseshoe, as it is today. (Athens, Greece / 2006)

Vlihada Cave

Diros caves are the most beautiful caves in Greece, and one of the best in the world as well. The Vlihada cave is the only one open to the public. The entrance is a narrow passageway and is few meters above the sea. From the entrance, the sightseers have to pass numerous chambers and arches while enjoying various stalactites and stalagmites in a very creative formation. The cave is 3.5 km long and has a temperature of 18 degrees C. (Peloponnese, Greece / 2007).

Fortress Of Monemvasia

Dubbed as "Gibraltar of the East", Monemvasia is a massive walled fortress that was once used for protection, and housed the Byzantine Greeks against barbarians. It is an island and was accessible through a solitary entrance which, many years ago used to be a portable wooden bridge. In 1971, Monemvasia was linked to the rest of outside world through a concrete bridge. Some medieval buildings, defensive structures and Byzantine churches still remain. The church of Hagias Sophia which was built at the end of 12th century is one among restored. (Peloponnese, Greece / 2008).
