As the word implies "the lakes inside cave" is what it takes as you go inside the cave, and one thing unique is that these string of lakes cascade in three different levels. The cave has an altitude of 827 meters and has an explored stretch of 1980 meters, but only 500 meters are accessible for walk-in. Spanned with the walkway bridge, the visitor can cross from one lake of a self formed natural dams to another lake, passing through a wonderful shape of boulders, very tiny waterfalls, and of course the stalactites and stalagmites of a very fascinating formation. Monastery of Agia Lavra
This monastery is very symbolic as it was constructed in 961 AD at an altitude of 961 meters, and once also had 961 monks. It is considered to be historical monument of Greece as it was here where the call for "freedom or death" first rang in 1821 by the Greek against Turks. Aside from the legendary banner, some collections of crosses made from precious stones and other religious items are kept here. (Kalavrita, Greece / 2009)

Monument of Holocaust
Also called the "place of sacrifice", it is the place where all the town's (Kalavrita) male populations aged 14 and above were executed by the German troops on 13 December 1943. The names of all who vanished that day were engraved on the pillars. On the hill, a huge cross sits to commemorate this tragic crime. Within the catacomb, a number of candle holder is seen which is equal to the number of families who suffered the lost from this horrific event. Beside the catacomb is a sculpture, describing a mother in pain. (Kalavrita, Greece / 2009)

Monastery of Mega Spileo
This monastery was built on a wild and steep side of a rocky hill, which gives a breathtaking view of the site. The cells of the monastery have been built around the entrance of a "grand cave" (mega spileo). It is believed that an icon of Virgin Mary was found deep inside the cave. The monastery has a museum which contains holy relics, treasures and manuscripts. It has also a spring inside with pure and crystal clear flowing water. (Kalavrita, Greece / 2009)
