Vouliagmeni Lake

Located by the sea on the south coast of Athens, the lake is recognized as wonder of nature because of its unique appearance. Studies told that millions years ago, this lake was a cave with hot springs that collapsed due to high temperature. The water temperature is 27 deg C all through out the year and is 500 mm above sea level. It is brackish in color and full of minerals which give relief to bone, muscle and skin problems. Due to these hydro and physiotherapic healing virtues, the Greece Tourism Organization tagged this lake as Therapeutic Hot Spring. It's nice to dip the feet on the water while being kissed by tiny black fishes. In between spring baths, visitors will enjoy refreshing at the cafe-bar and restaurant while viewing the nature's paradise. (Athens, Greece / 2010)
