Being a part of Delphi's archaeological site, the Athenian Treasury of Delphi resembles small temple and was used to protect valuables such as silver and gold offerings of ancient times. Like other treasuries, it was built high off the ground, with thick walls, and no windows making it difficult to enter. It was built sometime between 510 and 490 BC. Standing at 6.68m, this Athenian treasury was made from cut stone and Persian marble. Just below the ceiling, there are remnants of painted designs. It has two Doric columns along the front. The structure is also a part of Unesco's World Heritage Site. (Delphi, Greece / 2010)
